Up for sale is a vintage 1940’s Black Rayon Embroidered and Beaded Top. Beautiful handmade top as found. Black rayon with back and side zippers. Long sleeves. Round neckline. Amazing gold embroidery and varied brass beading on a moss green rayon encircling the neck front and back. Same detailing at sleeve ends as well as at side slits!! Modified peplum/skirt. Remnants of thread loops at side, probably was belted at one time as waist is a tad bit dropped. Beautiful drape as the rayon is quite slinky. Beading is in brass balls and what look like jeans studs but are not! Gold hand-embroidery is not garish but classy and adds so much to the black. Very good showing no armpit stains, yay, a couple tiny holes on upper left front where a brooch was likely pinned. Hand-sewn tape hem needs a few restitches. Back darts at waist need a machine stitch. Overall a lovely vintage piece of clothing. Weighs in at 13.5 oz.
