Dramatic 70s hooded prairie dress. The dress is fitted at the waist with a long a-line skirt. total length: 53.5″.
This beautiful dress is from the late 1850s early 1860s. It’s either cotton or a wool blend. I haven’t put it under a microscope so I can’t see the fiber content, but it is very floaty and lightweight summer. It does not have any Hooks and eyes, but you can get those on the website NJ Sekela where they make reproduction Hooks and eyes and their hammered brass. They’re just lovely and Authentic . there are a few few flaws as seen in pictures a couple of holes at the bottom of the dress other than that it is absolutely beautiful condition you can fix those if you want to leave it up to your discretion. It’s just an absolutely gorgeous dress and a great example from the period again all photos are part of the description please look at them carefully before purchasing.
Waist to hem 32”. There are some pin marks on the waist, tiny dots near the waist and a faint yellowed mark and a somewhat faint dirt mark. Small hole and mark by the button at the waist. Please see photos.
