Stunning hand-stitched antique dress Brown velvet 2-tier skirt and cuffs with a cream lace bodice. Cuffs each feature 4 covered buttons and loops, skirt tiers are asymmetric, hips have 3 decorative embroidered stripes and a line of covered buttons decorate the left ribs to thigh. The gown is in remarkably good shape, the only damage noted is in the skirt with a few small slits and an open seam. Please inspect photos for complete condition information and measurements. You are looking at an Antique Victorian Walking Coat Plaid Red Green Black Yellow Burnout Velvet. This coat is made from a wool/wool blend (exact fiber content unknown) with a vibrant, bold red plaid with stripes of yellow, green, black, and white.
All closures are in tact. There is also a hook and eye on the left side of the skirt at the waistband. Length: 51″.
It closes down the center back with both layers. The two hook and eyes at the waistband are each missing their “eyes.”. The skirt has two tiers. The top tier ends around the knees, the bottom tier is floor length.

This beautiful dress is from the late 1850s early 1860s. It’s either cotton or a wool blend. I haven’t put it under a microscope so I can’t see the fiber content, but it is very floaty and lightweight summer. It does not have any Hooks and eyes, but you can get those on the website NJ Sekela where they make reproduction Hooks and eyes and their hammered brass. They’re just lovely and Authentic . there are a few few flaws as seen in pictures a couple of holes at the bottom of the dress other than that it is absolutely beautiful condition you can fix those if you want to leave it up to your discretion. It’s just an absolutely gorgeous dress and a great example from the period again all photos are part of the description please look at them carefully before purchasing.
This unique women’s dress by Helena Fashions USA is a stunning piece of antique cotton clothing. Dress has been washed but still has some discoloration and rust stains. Did not get aggressive with washing as didn’t want to do more harm.
